Today, we are very happy to have organized a seminar with the participation of Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Thu Thuy, a Michael Smith Medical Research Foundation Scholar in Biochemistry at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. The seminar focused on new discoveries about enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of alkaloid anti-cancer compounds, especially camptothecin hydroxylase. This information not only has a scientific foundation but also opens up new perspectives in developing cancer treatment methods.

Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Thu Thuy talked about how to use C-H complex enzymatic functionalization to create effective anti-cancer drugs such as topotecan (Hycamtin®) and irinotecan (Camptosar®). This information is an important contribution, helping people better understand the potential and applications of interdisciplinary science in the field of medicine.

Participating in the seminar, Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Thu Thuy also shared about her journey of studying and working at the University of British Columbia. These experiences not only served as encouragement but also helped create connections between theory and practice in her research journey.

The seminar is also an opportunity for Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Thu Thuy addressed scholarship opportunities and provided guidance on securing funding for international research projects. This is important to ensure the continuation and success of ongoing research projects.

We are very grateful for the support and sharing of Associate Professor, PhD. Dang Thu Thuy, a day full of inspiration and new knowledge opened before us in the field of interdisciplinary science.
