On the morning of November 15, at the University of Natural Sciences, VNU-HCM, a very meaningful discussion took place with the theme “Equal Opportunities in STEM”. This event aims to raise awareness of gender barriers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and promote women’s participation in these professions.
The seminar was organized by the Management and Sustainable Development Institute (MSD) in collaboration with the University of Natural Sciences, within the framework of the STEMherVN 2024 Project, sponsored by Qualcomm Foundation and MiTek Group. The project aims to inspire female students to pursue education and careers in STEM.
Experts and entrepreneurs shared interesting stories, discussed the difficulties and misconceptions that women face in the STEM field. They also proposed many practical solutions to support and encourage female students.
In addition, the discussion focused on the following topics:
- Breaking down myths about women’s abilities in STEM.
- Career opportunities and growth potential in the industry.
- The role of early STEM education in developing students’ skills.
The event created an ideal space for students to interact and ask questions with the speakers, while affirming the value of gender equality in STEM education and careers.
