MAJOR: INTEGRATED SCIENCE
The University of Natural Sciences, VNU-HCM announces the admission to the master’s degree program in 2026 – round 1, Integrated Science major as follows:

2. ADMISSION METHOD: SELECTION BASED ON ACADEMIC RECORDS, comprising 2 forms:
- Application review
- Application review and professional interview
3. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet the following conditions:
3.1. Regarding university diplomas and academic results:
a) Applicants must have a university diploma or a decision recognizing their university degree (registration, work-study, second degree, etc.) in a field relevant to the field of study they are applying for. (phụ lục 2).
b) Alternatively, applicants may possess a university degree or a certificate of recognition (from various training programs: full-time, part-time, second degree, etc.) in a field relevant to the chosen field of study, and have completed supplementary courses as required by the chosen field of study. (phụ lục 3).
The following fields of study are suitable for applying to the Master of Science in Integrated Sciences program:
- Natural Sciences: Physics; Atomic and Nuclear Physics; Chemistry; Materials Science; Geology; Meteorology and Climatology; Hydrology; Oceanography; Environmental Science.
- Life Sciences: Biology; Biotechnology; Bioengineering; Applied Biology.
- Resource and Environmental Management: Resource and Environmental Management; Natural Resource Economics; Land Management.
- Mathematics: Mathematics; Computational Science; Data Science; Applied Mathematics; Mathematical Informatics.
- Computer Science and Information Technology: Computer Science; Computer Networks and Data Communication; Software Engineering; Information Systems; Computer Engineering; Artificial Intelligence; Computer Engineering Technology; Information Technology; Information Security.
- Engineering (Technology): Chemical Engineering; Materials Engineering; Metal Materials Engineering; Environmental Engineering. Engineering Physics; Nuclear Engineering; Biomedical Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Electronics and Telecommunications; Petroleum Engineering.

c) Candidates will be given priority consideration if they meet one of the following conditions regarding undergraduate training programs and academic results:
c.1. Graduates of undergraduate programs that meet accreditation standards or are evaluated according to regional and international standards, including: AUN-QA, AACSB, ACBSP, ABET, EUR-ACE, FIBAA, CTI, ASIIN, HCERES, and have a cumulative GPA of 6.5 or higher (on a 10-point scale).
c.2. Graduates of advanced undergraduate programs under the Ministry of Education and Training’s plan at some Vietnamese universities and have a cumulative GPA of 7.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale).
c.3. Graduates of regular undergraduate programs with a cumulative GPA of 7.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale).
c.4. Graduates of engineering or talent programs from the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) or Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi).
c.5. Graduates with an international GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (The Graduate Record Examination) certificate. The validity of the certificate is calculated from the date of the exam to the date of application submission.
c.6. Foreign nationals who have achieved a minimum Vietnamese language proficiency level of 4 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners.
Note: Applicants with a university degree from a foreign educational institution must submit a notarised Vietnamese copy of their diploma, a Vietnamese transcript, and a certificate of recognition of the foreign degree from the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training when applying. 3.3. Regarding foreign language proficiency: Candidates choose one of seven foreign languages for assessment: English, French, Russian, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Korean.
a) Candidates choosing a foreign language other than English: Candidates must possess a diploma or certificate in a foreign language other than English, as specified in Appendix 4 of this announcement, to be considered for exemption from the foreign language exam.
b) Candidates choosing English as a foreign language:
b.1) Candidates who already possess an English language diploma or certificate as specified in Appendix 4 of this announcement will be exempt from the English exam.
b.2) English exam: Candidates who do not yet possess an English language diploma or certificate as specified in Appendix 4 of this announcement must register to take the English exam during the admission period. The English exam will be organised by the Admissions Council of the University of Science, VNU-HCM (no exams for other foreign languages besides English will be held).
The English exam will be in a multiple-choice and essay format. The maximum exam duration is 120 minutes, covering four skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking). See the exam structure in Appendix 5.
3.4. Scientific Research Achievements (if any)
Candidates with published scientific articles will be prioritised in the following order: main author (first author/correspondent), co-author, member of the author group, and journal classification/ranking.
Candidates must submit a complete list of their scientific publications in their application essay, along with copies of the publications.
3.5. Awards, Certificates, and Professional Competence (if any)
Candidates with awards and certificates from the Faculty level or higher, and candidates with outstanding professional experience relevant to the field of study (work experience, relevant professional courses, etc.) are eligible.
Candidates must submit a complete list of their professional experience in their application essay, along with supporting evidence (e.g., copies of certificates, diplomas/confirmations of professional courses, etc.).
3.6. A clean personal record, not currently under disciplinary action at the level of a warning or higher, and not currently serving a criminal sentence, as confirmed by the local authorities where the applicant resides.
3.7. Possess sufficient health to study.
3.8. Regarding time after university graduation: not considered.
3.9. Submit complete application documents on time as stipulated in this announcement.
4. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS AND SUBMISSION PERIOD: Applicants can submit applications using both methods.

4.2. In person: After registering online, candidates must submit printed copies of their application documents directly to the Postgraduate Training Department (room B08), Faculty of Science, 227 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Cho Quan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, from the date of announcement until 4:00 PM on May 5, 2026 (during office hours).
The application dossier for each nguyện vọng (preference) includes: (See application form in section 12 of this announcement)
- 02 copies of the Application Receipt (Form 1)
- 01 Application Form (Form 2) and 1 3*4 photo
- 01 copy of the university graduation diploma (certified copy); or a university graduation certificate (certified copy or original, if the university graduation diploma is not yet available)
- 01 copy of the university graduation transcript (certified copy). Applicants may submit additional transcripts, certificates, etc. To demonstrate professional competence (if any):
- 02 copies of proof of foreign language proficiency:
- Copy of certificate/certification (no notarization required)
- Or copy of bachelor’s degree in foreign languages (notarized)
- Or other documents as stipulated in Appendix 4.

- Application file folder: Applicants should prepare all the above documents and receive the file folder at the Postgraduate Training Department on the application submission date.
Note:
- Copies of visa-certified documents must be valid for 12 months from the date of certification to the date of application submission.
- Documents should be photocopied or presented on A4 paper (except for the health certificate).
- Applicants can register for a maximum of 3 preferences. Each preference requires one application. For preference 1, submit the original application. For preferences 2 and 3, submit photocopies of the first preference application (excluding the receipt and application form).
- The university only accepts complete applications that meet the regulations, are submitted on time, and have been registered through both online and in-person methods.
- For students who do not yet have a university degree, they must submit a certificate of university graduation instead of a university degree and must submit a copy of their university degree before June 30, 2026. After this deadline, if a copy of the university degree is not submitted, the university will cancel the admission results.
5. APPLICATION REVIEW, PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW, AND ENGLISH EXAM SCHEDULE
5.1. Application Review and Results:
- Application Review Date: May 15, 2026
- Application Results Announcement Date: May 22, 2026. Applicants can view results on the website: https://sdh.hcmus.edu.vn/tuyen-sinh/ (The university will not notify applicants via email).
5.2. Professional Interview Schedule
- Interview Date: May 30, 2026 (Saturday)
- Interview Location: University of Science, 227 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Cho Quan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- Arrival Time at the Interview Location: Please see your application notice.
5.3. English Exam Schedule:
- Exam Date: May 31, 2026 (Sunday), covering all four skills: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking
- Exam Location: University of Science, 227 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Cho Quan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- Arrival Time for the Exam: Please see your application notice.

5.4. Interview and English Exam Notification:
- Candidates can receive the notification directly at the Postgraduate Training Department from May 26th, 2026 to May 29th, 2026, during office hours (a relative may receive it on their behalf). Candidates need to receive the interview notification before May 29th, 2026 to know the exact time for the interview on May 30th, 2026.
- Candidates taking only the English exam can receive the notification from May 26th, 2026 to May 29th, 2026, during office hours (a relative may receive it on their behalf), or from 6:30-7:00 AM on May 31st, 2026. The university will not send notifications by mail.
6. TARGET GROUPS AND PRIORITY POLICIES:
6.1. Eligibility: Candidates are entitled to preferential treatment if they belong to the following categories:
a. Individuals with at least two years of continuous work experience (as of the application deadline) in localities designated as Zone 1 in the National High School Graduation Examination Regulations. In this case, the candidate must have a decision on acceptance of employment or assignment/secondment from a competent agency or organization;
b. War invalids, those receiving benefits similar to war invalids;
c. Children of martyrs;
d. Heroes of the Armed Forces, Labor Heroes;
e. Ethnic minorities with at least two years of permanent residence (as of the time of the examination) in localities designated as Zone 1 in the National High School Graduation Examination Regulations;
f. Children of resistance fighters who were exposed to chemical toxins, and whose deformities, disabilities, or reduced self-reliance in daily life and studies are confirmed by competent authorities as a result of chemical toxins.
6.2. Priority Level: Applicants belonging to the priority group in section 9.1 (including those belonging to multiple groups) will have 10% added to their total English exam score, unless they are exempt from the foreign language exam.
7. APPLICATION FEES: The application and selection fees per application are as follows:
- Application and selection fee: 300,000 VND/applicant/application.
- Professional interview fee: 200,000 VND/applicant/application.
- English exam fee: 200,000 VND/applicant.
Applicants must pay the examination fee in cash at the Postgraduate Training Department when submitting their application.
8. ADMISSION RESULTS: will be announced after June 25, 2026 on the website: https://sdh.hcmus.edu.vn/tuyen-sinh/ (The university will not notify applicants via email).
9. SELECTION PROCESS:
9.1. Preliminary screening of applications: Preliminary screening of applications will be conducted based on the selection criteria as stipulated in section 3 of this announcement.
- Candidates who meet the preliminary screening requirements will have their information compiled into a summary list for the specialised subcommittee to review.
- Candidates who do not meet the requirements or whose applications are incomplete will have their applications returned for supplementation if the application deadline has not passed.
9.2. Application review:
- The specialised subcommittee will evaluate and review the applications based on the following criteria: Priority criteria for application review as specified in section 3.1.c; undergraduate academic results; scientific achievements; and professional competence as presented in the candidate’s application essay.
- Based on the enrollment quotas for each major and the evaluation results in order of priority by the specialised subcommittee, the Admissions Council announces the results of the application review, including:
- List of candidates who meet the application review requirements and are not required to take a professional interview.
- List of candidates who will take the professional interview.
Note: Candidates will only be considered to have met the application review requirements and not be required to take a professional interview for one major based on their priority order of application. Candidates who will take the interview may still choose a maximum of 3 interview preferences in the order of their priority order of application.
9.3. Professional Interview:
Candidates whose names are on the list of candidates for the interview based on the application review results of the Admissions Council in section 9.2 will attend a direct interview with the specialised subcommittee according to the schedule in section 5.2 of this announcement.
Candidates for the professional interview should refer to the interview topics for their chosen field in Appendix 6.
9.4. Foreign Language Proficiency Assessment:
Candidates who meet the foreign language proficiency requirements as stipulated in Appendix 4 of this announcement are exempt from the foreign language exam.
Candidates who do not meet the foreign language proficiency requirements as stipulated in Appendix 4 of this announcement must take the English exam according to the schedule in section 5.3 of this announcement.
10. ADMISSION CRITERIA
10.1. Application Review Method: Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Professional Qualifications: Meet the application review requirements based on the assessment results of the Admissions Council.
- Foreign Language Proficiency: Be exempt from the foreign language exam or achieve a minimum score of 50/100 in the English language exam during the 2025 Master’s degree entrance examination – second round.
10.2. Application and Professional Interview Selection Process: Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Professional Qualifications:
- Applications must be approved by the Professional Subcommittee.
- Interview results from the Professional Subcommittee: ≥ 5.0 points (on a 10-point scale)
- Foreign Language Proficiency: Candidates must be exempt from the foreign language exam or achieve a minimum score of 50 points (on a 100-point scale) in the English language exam during the 2025 Master’s degree entrance examination (Round 2).
- Admissions Council Review: Based on the admission quotas for each major and the professional interview results, the Admissions Council will review the list of candidates who meet the requirements for Master’s degree admission based on interview scores, from highest to lowest, until all quotas are filled.
Note: Candidates will only be considered for admission to one major, based on their priority order of application.
11. INTRODUCTION TO THE GRADUATE PROGRAM
11.1. Curriculum Framework for the Master of Integrated Science:

11.2. Training Duration and Schedule:
a) The total training time for the full-time master’s program is 2 years (24 months).
b) The 2026 enrollment cohort – first intake – will begin specialized courses in December 2026.
c) Weekly Schedule:

- Algebra and Number Theory; Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics; Mathematical Analysis; Data Science; Applied Mathematics; Mathematics Education.
- Optics; Atomic and Nuclear Physics; Geophysics; Oceanography; Meteorology and Climatology; Engineering Physics; Experimental Physics Teaching; Semiconductor Technology.
- Electronics Engineering, Electronics-Telecommunications-Computer Science; Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics and Integrated Circuit Design; Integrated Circuit Design.
- Environmental Science; Resource and Environmental Management.
- Chemistry; Geology; Ecology; Materials Science; Integrated Science.
- Courses on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: Plant Physiology; Animal Physiology; Biochemistry; Genetics; Microbiology; Biotechnology; Experimental Biology Teaching.
- Computer Science; Information Systems; Artificial Intelligence: 70% of courses are taught outside of regular hours (weekday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays); 30% are taught during regular business hours.
- Other majors are taught during regular business hours: students will attend 3-4 sessions per week.
