On October 9, University of Science, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Intel Corporation to integrate the AI for Future Workforce program into selected academic curricula. This agreement marks an important step forward in the university’s strategy to enhance digital competencies and provide AI training aligned with global industry standards for students.

According to the MoU, the courses incorporating the AI for Future Workforce content will provide students with a comprehensive system of AI knowledge and practical skills that match real-world industry demands. Students who complete the modules will receive a co-branded certificate jointly issued by HCMUS and Intel, demonstrating internationally aligned AI competencies and strengthening their competitiveness in the job market.

Intel’s AI for Future Workforce program is currently implemented in multiple countries and includes modules ranging from foundational AI knowledge and hands-on skills to specialized project development and simulations of real enterprise challenges. Its flexible structure enables students from various majors, including those without prior programming experience, to participate, aiming to develop a young workforce ready to apply AI in an increasingly digital economy.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training, in collaboration with Intel, organized training workshops for university lecturers in Hanoi (July 2024) and Ho Chi Minh City (January 2025). These workshops represent the first steps in implementing the Memorandum on Digital Transformation in Education signed between the Ministry and Intel in September 2023. The training sessions help enhance lecturers’ professional competencies and support universities in systematically integrating AI content into their academic programs. HCMUS is among the pioneering institutions continuing this initiative.

The collaboration with Intel opens opportunities for access to internationally standardized teaching resources, modern learning platforms, and well-established AI training models. This partnership provides a solid foundation for the University to enhance training quality, expand career opportunities for students, and strengthen Vietnam’s human resources competitiveness in high-tech industries.

The agreement also reaffirms University of Science, VNU-HCM’s commitment to developing high-quality human resources capable of meeting the demands of digital transformation and the rapidly growing need for AI talent in Vietnam and globally.
